Investigating Literal and Inferential Comprehension Achievement of Grade Six Students

Literal and inferential comprehension questions characterize the types of tasks students typically complete in reading assignments elementary schools Indonesia. This study, a preliminary survey more extensive research, aimed at describing Grade Six students’ literal achievements. The research respondents were 198 from three Makassar, instrument used was test which consisted 35 multiple-choice questions. data obtained tabulated analyzed descriptively using percentage analysis. results study showed that most this had low achievement comprehension, both comprehension. findings an implication for teaching learning process Indonesia other similar contexts.
